🌟 FEATURE FRIDAY | DAMIAN VERAZZI

Meet Damian Verazzi - Australian representative, passionate water ski coach and one of the senior coaches helping us redevelop our coaching course.

Growing up skiing in WA’s Great Southern, Damian moved to Perth at 18 and joined the show ski team, beginning a journey that would take him onto the world stage. 🌏

He has represented Western Australia at seven Australian Show Ski Nationals, from 2011 to 2026, and Australia at four World Show Ski Tournaments in 2012, 2014, 2018 and 2025.

With a background in teaching high school sport and outdoor education, alongside experience coaching AFL, water ski coaching was a natural progression. Through countless Come & Try days, Damian has helped newcomers build their skills and discover the thrill of being behind the boat.

For Damian, coaching is all about “passing the handle”, sharing the skills, the fun and the love of water skiing with the next generation. 💙

Now, he’s bringing that experience and enthusiasm to our coaching course redevelopment, helping support the coaches who will welcome more people onto the water.

This week, we’re introducing Ryan Clark, WAWA’s Digital Coordinator, combining a lifelong connection to waterskiing with a passion for digital, design, and communications.

Hi, I’m Ryan!

Waterskiing has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up around the sport and competing in tournament waterskiing has given me a strong connection to the community, so being able to bring that together with my work at WAWA is something I really enjoy.

As WAWA’s Digital Coordinator, I work across our digital platforms, communications, branding and social media, with a big focus on finding new ways to strengthen our digital presence and better showcase our sport, athletes and the people behind it.

Behind the scenes, you’ll find me working on everything from our website and digital systems to campaigns, content and resources that help connect and support our wider community.

I’m excited about where we can take WAWA digitally and continuing to find new ways to share the people, stories and achievements that make our sport what it is.
